Orchard Cup Striking Competition

The annual friendly competition between CBB and the Chiltern branch took place on Saturday 12th October at Aston Abbotts.  A very happy afternoon was spent ringing, listening to ringing and enjoying a splendid tea.

The competition was judged by John and Ann White from Towcester, who gave some very supportive and encouraging comments to the ringers taking part.  It was lovely to see a good many relatively recent recruits out ringing during the afternoon.

The results given were :

1st  Stewkley B 57 faults
2nd Aylesbury A 60 faults
3rd Long Crendon 61 faults
4th Aylesbury B 85 points
5th Cheddington 90 fsults
6th Stewkley C 119 faults
7th Stewkley A 120 faults
8th Wing 135 faults

As we had not been able to hold the branch competition in May, Stewkely were awarded both the Branch trophy and the Orchard Cup.  Next year the competition will be hosted by the Chiltern Branch,  to be held at Cheddington on 17th October, so put it on your calendar now!
