How Ringing Works.
The Central Council of Church Bell Ringers has released a booklet entitled ‘From Practice to Perfect’. It contains a lot of useful information about how church bells ringers are trained, safeguarded and organised and, although it is aimed primarily at the clergy, PCCs and safeguarding advisors, please take time to have a look as it may be useful within your towers.

Secretary Needed.
The Branch is still looking for a new Secretary. If anyone has had thoughts of joining in please email Ailsa directly or at treasurer@cbucks.odg.org.uk. The Secretary’s role has been circulated but please ask if you need the details again.
ODG Ringing Day, 6th May 2024.
Bank Holiday Monday, 6th May is the Oxford Diocesan Bell Fund Ringing Day. Seventeen towers around Oxford will be open for an hour for ringing from 09:00 through to 18:30. The cost is £2 per tower or £20 for a day ticket with all proceeds going to the Oxford Diocesan Bell Fund.

Special Practices
Special practices will be held on the third Wednesday of the month at Stewkley, from 7.30 to 9pm.
The next practice is on Wednesday 17th April, from 7.30 to 9pm.

Tower and Belfry Maintenance Course
Saturday 27th April 2024.
Church Enstone, Oxfordshire
The ODG Towers & Belfries Committee have organised a one day course on Tower and Belfry Maintenance to be held on Saturday 27th April from 10 am to 3 pm at Church Enstone, Oxfordshire.
Topics to be covered include: inspection and maintenance, working safely in a tower, rope management, and sound control amongst others. The cost is £5.

Guild Higher Numbers Practices.
Following feedback from Guild members, the ODG has decided to organise ‘Higher Numbers’ Practices on a quarterly basis for members of the Guild who want to ring on 10 and/or 12 bells. These are open to anybody who can ring a touch of Stedman Triples.
The next practice is at Abingdon (10) on Sunday 9th June from 15:00 – 17:00. If any member of the Branch is interested in attending one of these practices would they please email Chris Mundy (ODG Deputy Ringing Master) at depmaster@odg.org.uk so that numbers can be managed.
Other Planned practices are on;
