With a new year, we have introduced some new practices and activities, following feedback from towers last year. We are of course also continuing the 2nd Saturday general branch practice Please come along to the one or more best suited to you.
A Raising and Lowering morning was held on Saturday 7th. This proved to be both popular (we were oversubscribed and are planning another) and successful with 6 ringers finishing the morning far more confident than they had been.
On Friday 17th the first more advanced minor practice was held at Bierton. This gave opportunities for ringing beyond Plain Bob and Grandsire and will be held next at Chearsley on Monday 17th February. watch out for information on next month’s focus methods. Then last Saturday we held the first ‘beyond rounds’ session, this time at Waddesdon. This was a useful practice, with time to listen to striking and learn to move bells more accurately from place to place. This will be held at 9.30 on the 4th Saturday morning of each month. Next month again at Waddesdon and in March at Stewkley. Do please join this if you are looking to manage the move towards plain hunting – we were surprised at the relatively low turn out given that so much interest had been expressed. It was though a very useful session for those who attended.
Don’t forget that you can now book for the branch outing on 7th March – full details in each tower.
